We finally made it and are holding the keys to our very own house!
We only had to sign away our lives, and throw in a kid or two, but it's ours. Hey, that's why we had them, right?
Ok, we get to keep the kids. Anna sure had fun at the Title Company this morning, though. They had all kinds of fun stuff--water bottles, cookies, a fun little toy room, and awesome chairs to spin on in the conference room. I'm not so sure she wouldn't have minded being used as payment if she got to stay there!
That stack of papers they go through to sign sure is thick. And a little intimidating. Once we signed everything and authorized the wire transfer for all of our closing costs and down payment, Dan started to feel the pressure and took off for work for the rest of the day. Gotta keep the boss happy so we can pay the mortgage! Ah, living the American dream. And we're thrilled!
We're ready to start the long busy weekend moving. With the 3-day weekend coming, we figured we'd take full advantage of the day off of work and get as much moved as possible. So we've got our Uhaul truck rented for Saturday morning and ready to move on out. Hooray!

So So So Exciting! We bought our house in October and we really love it. It's so nice to know that you can do what you want, paint what you want, pull weeds, or do nothing and it doesn't matter because it's all yours. Congrats!
I remember signing my life away. My signature continued to get worse and worse the farther into the process we went. And I can't believe that Anna was so good while you were closing. Lucky you! Good luck with the move on Saturday.
Congratulations. We're so excited for you. My favorite part is the transformation it takes as you decorate it and truly make it home. Enjoy!
That sounds like our title company experience! Thank goodness for cookies and spinning chairs when you have kids (and adults) that aren't really that interested in paperwork. I'm happy for you in your new house!
Finally! What a wonderful, gut-wrenching day! Scott always feels a little sick to his stomach when buying a big ticket item. I think the day we signed on our house he felt sick for three days afterwards!
Glad you got to keep the kiddos. Nice to have someone to put in those new bedrooms huh!
YAY! So very happy for you! Post pics after you get all settled.
Congratulations! Your first house!!!! :D That's so exciting!
Wahoo! You really do feel like you're signing your life away don't you? I remember feeling stressed out and anxious for like a week after. It's so nice to have your own place though. Congrats!!!
